"Er... yes, okay, I suppose I should tell you that if you're trying to reach me I'm not here, and if you're trying to reach me because you want to do something involving pointy bits of metal or otherwise painful objects, I'm never going to be here. So sorry."
Honestly, why would I send someone to gather information on you, when I already know more about you than most people here? And through Dr. Chilton, no less, when I could just ask him. There's no sense in it.
[which is half of why he'd thought maybe Baelish was the one who set it up.]
This spy who called himself Arthur came of his own volition. He admitted that much. But he also confessed it was you who planted the seed, that you told this very dangerous man I was dangerous. And now this dangerous man has every reason to target Dr. Chilton once again -- if not for more information, then surely for revenge. So I need to know who he is.
I don't know who he is! You don't even know his bloody name, why should I? I don't remember telling anyone about you, no one stands out. It's not as though I'm eager to have anything to do with you again.
Surely you've all got communicators, same as I do. Go through old posts, see if you can't pick out his face or voice. Just leave me out of it.
Do you think a spy would be that idiotic to show his face on the network? I am almost certain all the communications he has are private, if he even has them at all. So for right now, you are the only lead we have.
[ This is where Petyr takes a gamble. If Rincewind truly is innocent, then the threat probably won't take. But if he's not -- then Baelish will have something to dangle over him. ]
Don't I? I happen to have it on good authority that you've been linked to a few missing natives.
[ Surely the man-eating luggage has eaten a man or two in its time here. Surely. And even if Rincewind hasn't seen it happen, perhaps this will prickle at the edges of his paranoia. ]
The security - ? [what footage? What does he mean by that? - Could he mean the video that little flying idiot was recording? Had he gotten hold of that somehow? But the only way he'd even know about that would be - ]
Oh that bloody knight. [this in a snarled mutter under his breath.] Look, they can't hold that against me, it's not like it was murder, he was trying to kill me!
No. [a sure answer from someone who spent too many years with an unwanted tenant in their head.]
Look, let's just skip the interrogation and get right to the end of this, shall we? You've got him on camera, right? Well, show me the video and I'll tell you if I know him.

Well, I can't help. Sorry.

But it is funny. You saying you cannot help. As though I actually gave you a choice.

Have you ever felt like when you were spending time with someone, you lost time? It may be indicative of them milling around in your mind.

Instead, miserably, he answers:] Right. At the party, then.
